Thunderstorms developing along the Front Range on Tuesday may bring large hail, heavy rain, gusty winds and isolated cases of flooding and tornadoes as they move east, National Weather Service forecasters said.
Storms will start developing around 1 p.m. with the main threat to the Interstate 25 corridor – egg-sized hail – expected between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., the agency said in a hazardous weather outlook.
“Today will be a good day to keep vehicles parked in the garage and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts,” NWS officials wrote in a Tuesday morning forecast.
The hazardous weather outlook applies to central and eastern Colorado, including Fort Collins, metro Denver, Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
Storms could also bring winds up to 70 mph and heavy rain that causes flooding, particularly over the Eastern Plains between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
