Police shoot, kill woman in downtown Denver

Denver police officers shot and killed a woman downtown on Sunday, according to the Denver Police Department.

The shooting happened near the intersection of North Broadway and Lawrence Street, according to a 12:53 p.m. post by the department on X.

The woman who was shot died on-scene, according to the post. Her identity has not yet been publicly released.

Part of Lawrence Street is closed for the investigation and the department recommends finding an alternate route, officials said.
