The Major League Soccer Players’ Association released the first salary report of the 2025 season on Wednesday, which includes the salary of every MLS player. The Colorado Rapids, who have made their fair share of splash signings over the past two seasons, are ninth lowest in the league in payroll for their first-team players. Winger Kévin Cabral, who has not logged a goal contribution yet this season despite playing in all but one match this season, is atop the Rapids’ payroll at $2.1 million per year. Half of that salary, however, has been paid by his former team, L.A. Galaxy, since the Rapids acquired him in 2022, and will be until his contract expires following this season. In terms of salary the Rapids pay in full, the club’s most expensive player is attacking midfielder Djordje Mihailovic, at $1,775,000 in guaranteed compensation. Two killed in Montrose plane crash

Two people were killed Monday when the small plane they were in crashed shortly after taking off from the Montrose Regional Airport on the Western Slope, according to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office. The single-engine plane took off from the airport around 10:20 a.m. and headed north before it crashed near the intersection of the 6300 Road and E. Juniper Road in Montrose, about two miles from the airport, sheriff spokesman Dave Farley said. “It came over, banked, hit a mound and then skidded across the road — it’s a dirt road on private property — and then it started on fire,” Farley said. The two people inside the plane, both males, were killed, he said. He did not know the ages of the victims. Farley noted the airport was visible from the crash site. He said investigators don’t yet know the cause of the crash and that the Federal Aviation Administration would investigate.
